Search the Xinjiang Police Files for information on over 700,000 persons in Xinjiang, including detention status.
IMPORTANT: Please input an 18-digit Chinese ID number or name using Chinese characters in the search box. For fastest results, try searching for the PRC identification number of the individual. If searching by name, use full name without any spaces or symbols. For instance, a typical government name record might be “???????·????” but try searching “???????????” instead. See the About Page for more important information about this search feature. If the search function does not appear below, try accessing it directly at xpfps.xyz. CNN has created a powerful, vivid digital interactive based on the new tool:
https://edition.cnn.com/
The data can be searched using a PRC ID number or (transliterated) Chinese name, and the interface outputs raw data entries (in Chinese) from the files. There are approx. 6,000 images of persons that will be displayed in the results if an image is associated with the ID number. The data is up until the end of 2018 (there is no recent data). About two-thirds of the listed persons are from two counties in the region, but there are at least a few thousand personal entries for well over a dozen other counties. See further info on the “about” page of the search.
