The Shaanxi Women and Children’s Legal Service Center was inaugurated on September 1 in Xi’an, capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

The center is sponsored by Shaanxi Women’s Federation and Yongjiaxin Law Firm. The center will organize legal service volunteers to provide legal service to local women and children.

In the past, many local women and children did not have access to legal services, because they could not afford the high expenses. When Shaanxi Women’s Federation became aware of their difficulty, it negotiated with Yongjiaxin Law Firm and finally the firm agreed to help the Federation establish a legal service center. Many staff of the firm volunteered to provide legal services in the center. They said that it is their responsibility to help women protect their rights and interests.
