Wolters Kluwer, announced yesterday? that the company has appointed Stacey Caywood as CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, effective immediately.
We’re told that? Ms. Caywood will oversee the business activities related to the Legal & Regulatory division globally, which include operations in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Asia Pacific, serving legal and business compliance professionals worldwide. Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory has annual (2009) revenues of EUR1,448 million, representing 42% of total revenue.
Here’s the rest of the press release. We’ve highlighted in bold some of the more relevant sections.
One thing that we have noticed in this press release is that Mark Dorman, currently Vice President Legal Markets Group, Law & Business, will succeed her as President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, North America is ex UK military.
All we’ll say is that when West and LN started hiring ex military in the nineties the cultural change at both companies was somewhat depressing to say the least.? That said, these days, the Brits are better at soft power than the Americans so maybe WK Legal in the US won’t become a “yes sir no sir” operation. It? would be sad if it did though. WK does still seem to have a soul which is more than can be said for some other publishers of legal information.
