Remember kids these are the battles that matter…….Global brand S C Johnson and Son have won the legal war over the word Ziploc.
The company has been in a six-year battle with Australian based International Consolidated Business (ICB) over the use of the trademarked term in New Zealand.
At the heart of the issue were three days in April 2013 when Johnson’s application to own the term pre-dated it’s application to revoke ICB’s existing rights.
For those three days there were two claims to ownership of the trademarked word, setting up a legal conflict that was decided on March 19 at the Court of Appeal.
