WEBINAR: Meet the Nature Crime Alliance

Wednesday 20 December, 11am ET / 4pm GMT (via Zoom)

As the year comes to a close, the Secretariat of the Nature Crime Alliance welcomes you to a webinar this Wednesday, 20 December, looking ahead at the Alliance’s plans for 2024. The session will also showcase the work of three Alliance members who are actively fighting nature crime.

Yulia Stange, Director of the Nature Crime Alliance, will provide an update on the next steps for the Alliance, including opportunities to engage with upcoming working groups.

The session will then feature presentations and Q&As with three Alliance members who will share insights on their work and the issues they are addressing:

Jenna Robertson, Intelligence Manager, Marine Investigations, Wildlife Justice Commission (WJC), will present findings from WJC’s recent report, ‘Convergence of Wildlife Crime with Other Forms of Organised Crime: A 2023 Review’.

Andrea Crosta, Founder and Executive Director, Earth League International, will share case studies on two criminal networks?in Latin America with significant environmental crime convergence.

Braddock Spear, Global Policy Director, North America, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), will share the latest on the Universal Fishery IDs – a collaboration between SFP and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization – to ensure discussion and data-sharing across the seafood industry, governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders to increase transparency and more targeted interventions against crimes associated with fishing.

The session offers the chance to find out more about the activities of other organisations within the Alliance, and identify areas of potential collaboration. Please feel free to share this invitation with members of your network that might find it of interest.
