Senior Librarian
Full-time Permanent Role – 35 hours per week.
Some remote working will be supported.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Librarian to supervise front-line services, manage and develop junior staff, and contribute to the delivery of legal research training. The role also involves supporting a professional enquiry service and assisting with collection development.
We are interested in hearing from experienced qualified librarians who enjoy working collaboratively and can communicate with confidence. You are most likely to have a background in academic or professional libraries, ideally as a law librarian or with law subject experience.

Gray’s Inn is one of the four Inns of Court which have the exclusive right to call men and women to the Bar of England and Wales. The Inn provides continuing legal education post-qualification, the Library, the Chapel, dining, scholarships, advocacy training and other facilities for students and barristers.
Gray’s Inn Library
The Library houses over 75,000 books, journals, and law reports, including rare books and manuscripts dating back to the 12th century. It provides the full range of standard legal sources, as well as collections in over twenty specialist areas of law, including its flagship international law collection. The Library also offers a range of online resources, a professional enquiry service, a document supply service, and training in legal research.
Duties include
. Responsibility for day-to-day staffing levels and management of junior staff
. Delivering legal research training to groups and one-to-one
. Supporting collection development and management
. Research and enquiries
. Supporting communication, events, and in-house training
