USA: Senior Marketer, Westlaw

The large & midsize law firm segment is seeking an energetic senior marketer to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage the full marketing mix to drive results for the business, with an acute focus on customers and prospects in the largest US law firms, in support of the online solution that comprises the largest sales and revenue contribution to the segment – Westlaw. The Senior Marketer works in conjunction with the segment marketing team to execute the marketing plan for Westlaw and associated solutions, supporting our premium market position with storytelling that reinforces Westlaw’s enduring unique value, and driving renewals and upgrades with demand generation and other marketing. The Senior Marketer plans, executes, and measures marketing programs, campaigns, and events, and enables the sales channel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for marketing plan execution, including customer awareness, thought leadership, social media, demand generation, testimonials and trade shows
  • Create effective sales tools to help the segment deliver a value-driven message to the sales channel
  • Effectively work across boundaries by partnering with corporate partners such as Sales & Account Management, Product Development, Central Marketing, Creative Services, Market Research, Finance, etc, to support and shape associated marketing programs, campaigns and incentives.
  • Manage a marketing budget for assigned projects and programs.
  • Effectively communicate to all levels of management
  • Understand customers’ workflow and pain points and how our products address those pain points.
  • Manage new product launches for the segment.
  • Develop sales tools, collateral and sales training.

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year college degree in business or marketing-related field required.
  • Minimum 4-8 years of professional marketing experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent marketing storytelling skills
  • Demonstrated use of full modern marketing mix, including digital, social, etc
  • Capable of managing marketing initiatives and/or products, including a demonstrated ability to effectively maximize the ROI of marketing strategies
  • Ability to develop and execute marketing programs
  • Ability to think independently and work with ambiguity
  • Ability to drive results within a team environment across a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven planning and project management experience
  • Ability to influence cross-organizational teams
  • Able to flex between strategic, creative and tactical marketing
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to understand and work with data
