USA-Position: Law Librarian Justice Building – Roseburg, Oregon

Part time non-benefited position, scheduled to work 12 – 20 hours per week

This position is responsible for managing the law library and performs duties necessary to operate facility, which includes clerical, technical and paraprofessional librarian functions of substantial variety and complexity.  Essential functions of the position: Serve as reference resource to patrons in locating books, take requests by phone and in person, photocopying materials, and answer questions.  Assist patrons in using the collection’s materials and using Westlaw and Internet resources.  Email or photocopy material for attorneys and place in attorney boxes or fax as requested. Perform circulation duties including packing/unpacking books as received, stamp received and shelve materials and taking periodic inventory.  Rearrange and straighten shelves, mend books, weed collection.  Talk with groups and individuals about law library services, orient new attorneys to the law library and explain functions, services and policies.  Meet with law library board and communicate with the board as needed between meetings.  Keep current on legislative issues pertaining to county Law Libraries. Perform other duties to assist smooth operation of the law library, fill updates in appropriate books, arrange library for space and ease of access; accept payments for copies made and write receipt, and maintain statistical recordkeeping; and monitor budget. As needed, perform clerical duties including mail, filing, recordkeeping, and typing; order supplies; receive, record, balance and deposit money.  Regular and consistent attendance is required.
