New York man sentenced for assaulting court security officer
Robert Wilson, 64, had a history of violent outbursts toward law enforcement and public servants, prosecutors said.
Man sentenced to prison for assault in courthouse incident
A New York man who assaulted a court security officer in an elevator and two others who came to his aid after he was barred from seeing a federal judge whom he had threatened to arrest for treason was sentenced on Friday to 18 months in prison.
Robert Wilson, 64, was also ordered to pay $1,499 in restitution to one of the victims by U.S. District Judge Eric Vitaliano in Central Islip, a year after the violent incident at the courthouse, during which all three court security officers sustained injuries, prosecutors said.
Wilson’s lawyer, Evan Sugar of the Federal Defenders of New York, did not respond to a request for comment.
