Job Description
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Maintain strong legal research skills to facilitate the authoring and creation of eLearning modules for Westlaw and other Thomson Reuters’ products and services.
  • Manage the eLearning module creation process through early outlining/storyboarding, scripting and authoring content, evaluating progress, identifying opportunities, mitigating risks and responding accordingly through to final delivery.
  • Manage customer research activities with external customers and internal business partners to gather knowledge required to develop modules and courseware.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow cross-team and cross functional relationships around the business for which Manager has primary responsibility – including, but not limited to, segment marketing, product owners and training and education department to drive maximum adoption of online training.
  • Ensure that quality of eLearning content, multi-media options used, courseware, research, and team performance are consistently excellent.
  • Manage his or her own team members to prioritize, refine and elevate individual and team skills, creativity and expectations to consistently get excellent results.
  • Own the tracking, evaluation, measurement and reporting process for all online training.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:

  • Ability to hire key talent, manage, coach/develop a small team of Online Content Developers to ensure on-time, high quality, and complete project delivery.
  • Train and develop team members to help them expand their capabilities in their roles and prepare them for new roles.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • JD Required.
  • Legal research and/or writing experience, preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, account management, product development, eLearning or product planning, OR 3+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, account management, product development, eLearning or product planning, AND 3+ years of experience in legal industry such as legal practice or legal research instruction
  • Excellent Westlaw legal research skills.
  • Ability to design and develop interactive, engaging legal research curriculum utilizing Westlaw and a variety of eLearning mediums.
  • Ability to present ideas to customers and internal partners effectively and with enthusiasm along with demonstrated experience in extensively collaborating with teams, including internal and external individuals and teams to drive excellent results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong, proactive project management skills including overall project planning and ability to drive cross-functional, cross-department teams to accomplish established objectives within very tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills, including experience building and developing teams along with demonstrated success in handling unpredictable, uncertain situations.
  • A bias for action, producing and owning high quality results, timely delivery and measurement of results which includes quick analytical decision making and understanding implications of decisions.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Role model for team and relationship partners, who not only provides appreciative and constructive feedback in a timely manner, but is also openly willing to accept feedback and appropriately act on it.
