WARREN, Minn. — A lawyer is in need of a lawyer after police say he viciously attacked his ex-wife.
Thirty-one-year-old Anders Odegaard is in the Marshall County Jail on an assault charge after police were called to his home on South Division Street in Warren Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23, for a domestic disturbance.
Deputies found his ex-wife, 31-year-old Carissa Odegaard, unresponsive, and is now in critical condition at Sanford Hospital.
Police determined she had been beaten.
“It’s kind of mind blowing, because you actually wouldn’t of expected that to happen in Warren,” said Madison Mock, who lives across the street.
Police say several kids were home during the attack but were not hurt. A motive has not been released.
The couple had recently divorced, and were due in court for a divorce hearing next week.
Anders Odegaard has been licensed to practice law in North Dakota since 2017.
Mock said Anders Odegaard has lived alone in the home across the street from her for a few years. Mock said she barely had any interaction with him, and that the only time he would be seen is when he mowed the lawn.
“You’d barely see his face, because he’d be wearing sunglasses all the time and a hat,” Mock said, adding his ex-wife and kids were also rarely seen at the home.
