Tulane University Law Library is accepting applications for the position of Acquisitions Librarian. The Library’s primary mission is to serve the educational and research needs of the faculty, students and staff of Tulane University Law School, but also supports the research needs of the Tulane University community at large, law school alumni/ae, patrons using the Federal and Louisiana Depository Collections, and students and faculty from other academic institutions with whom the Law Library has reciprocal agreements. This position provides a unique opportunity to a person motivated to be part of service-oriented team. Responsibilities: The Acquisitions Librarian is responsible for the supervision and management of all aspects of acquisitions operations including: manages the materials budget, monitors expenditures, ensures the ordering and receipt of library materials in all formats and media, manages electronic resources and licensing, reviews and implements collection management policies, and oversees vendor relations and purchasing agreements. This position assists in the supervision of one full-time staff member. The Acquisitions Librarian engages in cataloging library materials as needed. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to participate in library committee work and, depending on qualifications participate in other library projects including archives. The Acquisition Librarian will have strong service commitment; the ability to supervise staff and work within a team environment are a plus. Salary and Benefits: Rank and salary commensurate with experience, minimum Librarian I; generous benefits including a choice of health plans, tuition waiver for self, and undergraduate tuition waiver for dependents. Required Qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited school; excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Law library experience; familiarity with Innovative Interfaces integrated library system; knowledge of a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office. |

Tulane Law School Library is located on the main campus of Tulane University in uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. The Law Library is staffed by eight professional librarians and five library associates. The library’s collection currently totals over 650,00 volumes and volume equivalents.
