BUCKWALTER, Robert L. Age 81, of Cambridge, passed away after a brief illness on March 5, 2023. Son of Menno and Caroline (Lake) Buckwalter. He was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, and earned a BA from The Johns Hopkins University.
After study at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, he was ordained and served in the ministry for five years. Upon receiving the MLS degree from Columbia University School of Library Service, Bob began a long career in law librarianship, first at Columbia University Law School Library, then from 1983 until his retirement in 2006 as Associate Librarian for Collection Services at Harvard Law School Library.
He was committed not only to building the library’s collections, but also to sharing those resources as widely as possible. He is remembered as a dedicated colleague and mentor.
