The Internal Human Resources Communications Director reports to the VP, Talent Development and will define and execute the internal communications vision and strategy aligned to achieving WK and Human Resources enterprise priorities and driving value. He/she will be responsible for delivering and executing an integrated strategic human resources communications plan. He/she will directly partner with WK Corporate Communications on Wolters Kluwer Initiatives, Division Communications, and manage Internal Human Resources Communications objectives at the global and division levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

• Applies knowledge of external trends and industry shifts that effect the business to ensure an effective communications strategy

• Synthesizes complex information to form strategic communications plans; critically and logically evaluates costs, risks and benefits

• Integrates and develops communications and branding processes that meet business needs across the organization; manages complex issues within functional area of expertise

• Defines implements and reports on outcomes focused measurement of communications

Organizational Human Resources Communications

• Understands different functions across the organization; optimizes opportunities for integration/interaction; uses tools of communication in direct and indirect manner to ensure reach and impact

• Advises senior leaders on bringing organizational values and behaviors to life through communications and education programs

• Applies understanding of formal and informal knowledge/information channels to execute communications/branding initiatives

• Demonstrates expertise in representing employee perspectives to management

• Proactively anticipates need for change management communications

• Actively leverages all resources for the Company from a collaborative/community perspective providing guidance and education to employees to optimize communications and company brand with customers and other external stakeholders

• Support the CHRO and HRLT in developing and delivering key messages that clearly communicate our goals and strategic priorities to all stakeholder groups in order to create buy in and engagement

• Develop, improve and deliver multiple forums, tools and channels to communicate in a manner to ensure strongest reach and greatest impact with a change management mentality and approach

• Ensures HR priorities, initiatives, and messages cascade and are localized and contextualized appropriately across the divisions

• In collaboration with Executive team and HR, develop events, recognition programs and competitions that reward employees and teams for exceptional effort in support of our goals

• Develop and communicate process, tools and standards to achieve consistency and excellence

• Provide thought leadership into the integrated strategic HR communications plans, provide assistance in the development, execution and management of tactical Communication Toolkit materials (communication calendars, impact grids, message houses, discussion guides, tracking, metrics and reporting).

• Develop and expand internal vehicles for HR initiative visibility, including employee forums, written, digital and video communiques, employee chats, etc.

• Source, engage and manage vendor, freelance relationships and related expenses\budgets\invoices as necessary.

OTHER DUTIES

Builds high performing communications network ensuring clear accountabilities rooted in quantifiable and meaningful metrics enriched with feedback mechanisms. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:Education: Minimum –BS/BA Marketing, Communications, Business or related field. Advanced degreepreferred.

Experience:

15+ years’ of relevant experience at a director level, preferably within a global corporate communications department

• Experience in communications discipline and multiple specialty areas of communications practice to include branding, public relations, media relations, internal communications, external communications

• Experience working within a global, matrix structure and with cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, clear and unified messaging

• Managed/directed/experienced working in complex teams through change, transformation, and growth

• Prior experience in formulating, executing, monitoring, measuring and reporting results using strong analytical, decision-making and integrated strategic communications planning skills for employer branding, change management, business transformation and company performance initiatives.

• Prior experience with a deep knowledge of and a track record of success with cutting edge technology and communication platforms for email, SMS, intranet/web, social and mobile communication initiatives.

• Prior experience in preparing presentations and conducting speaking engagement. A passionate team player with outstanding speaking, presentation, writing and editing skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using technology-based communications for global audiences. French language skills highly desirable.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Office365).

• Demonstrates deep understanding of Human Resources to include talent management, talent acquisition, strategic HR, compensation, benefits, and change management.

• Exhibits in-depth understanding of the whole business enterprise to include customers, employees and products

• Expert in existing and emerging technology/media areas that have impact on communications strategies

• Deep functional knowledge of integrated communications and how it works together to include: branding, internal communications, social media tactics, etc.

• Solid content/message creation abilities and working knowledge of content management systems, internal social media, mobile, digital and web-based communications in a corporate environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with a keen attention to details and quality deliverables in a fast-paced complex/matrix global organization

• Proven ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Executive level thinking; capable to synthesize complex information and formulate an aligned approach and plan

• Highly developed executive presence with strong collaboration and influencing skills

• Applies formal and informal knowledge/information channels to execute communications/branding initiatives

• Capable to assess and communicate the impact of communications investments on key business initiatives

• Agile and capable to prioritize and manage multiple issues and/or assignments with time sensitive deadlines and possible overlapping tasks

• Skilled at building relationship, effectively integrating and focusing on key stakeholders internally to drive successful outcomes

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

10-20% annually, primarily US and Europe.
