We’ve just come across the Simply Hired.com salary calculator which allows you to see on average what a certain profession is paid across the US.
We couldn’t resist doing a quick non scientific comparison so.. for “Law Librarian” in the US here’s a scattering of locations off the top of HOB’s head..and the average salery in each city. Interestingly when we punched in the phrase “Legal Knowledge Management” in Manhattan the average rises to $70K and San Francisco it goes up to $75K.
The moral of the story being; call yourself a legal knowledge manager rather than a law librarian

The site also allows you to trend listed jobs .. so per below one can see for example that Law Librarian positions in the US? have since May 2008 decreased 62%. Not a major surprise except for the fact of % size of decrease which seems a scarily high average even to us at HOB who have been covering the market contraction over the last 14-16 months
