University of Missouri’s Dean Lidsky speaks at The Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting

Recently Dean Lyrissa Lidsky spoke at The Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting on a panel titled “Danger, Drama, and Self-Defeat? Diagnosing What Faces ‘The Press.’”

Dean Lidsky focused on recent high-profile defamation cases involving the media, the media’s recent propensity for self-inflicted wounds, and how they undermine the media’s role in producing an informed citizenry. Dean Lidsky is on the Executive Committee of the AALS Section on Technology, Law and Legal Education and was involved in planning an April conference on innovation in legal education.

She moderated a panel discussion at the AALS Deans’ Workshop, as well as a panel on Gender Equity in Law Schools. She also met with Mizzou Law alumni practicing in D.C. at the AALS SEC Reception.

She will be speaking on “The Future of Free Speech” at Washington University in St. Louis on January 17 together with Dean Erwin Chemerinsky of Boalt Hall School of Law.
