Law Library Teaching Professor/Associate Director for Access & Operations

The Library Teaching Professor (Associate Director for Access & Operations) is a critical member of the Law Library management team who is responsible for supervising the day-to-day work of one Academic Professional librarian, five Civil Service employees, and five FTE graduate assistants. Working with the Law Library Director, library faculty, and library staff, the Associate Director for Access & Operations manages the library’s acquisitions budget, collection development and maintenance, and circulation/access. The position directly supervises library technical services operations, including purchasing and licensing of materials, library catalog and automated library systems, serials, cataloging, government documents, collection management/maintenance. The Associate Director for Access & Operations also plans and leads projects to create new content through digitization and other modalities, teaches one or more legal research course(s), and supports law faculty and law student research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and Master’s degree in Information or Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or the equivalent. At least five years of experience in a law school library in a university setting with demonstrated experience supervising law library staff and academic professional-equivalent positions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated successful experience teaching law students and partnering with law faculty on research projects.

The Law Library Teaching Professor is a full-time, 12 month non-tenure track Specialized Law Library Faculty position with the possibility of a long-term contract. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. Applicants may be interviewed before the closing date; however, no hiring decision will be made until after that date.
