The Lawyer (UK) reports that Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has hired Alex Baykitch from Australian firm Blake Dawson to launch its Sydney office.
They write:
The firm first moved into the Australian market in 2006 by opening in Melbourne.
Senior partner Richard Crump said: ?Since opening our office in Melbourne, we?ve viewed Australia as integral to our international strategy.?
The firm has swelled it ranks in Melbourne by relocating London partner Andrew Dunn, promoting Hazel Brasington to the partnership and hiring Sydney-based consultant Philip Purcell.
It is a model that HFW aims to emulate in Sydney.
Australia managing partner Gavin Vallely said: ?Alex will soon be joined in Sydney by three senior lawyers who between them have extensive experience in running large litigation in London, New York and Australia.?
