Mitigating climate risk: preventing litigation through proactive measures

The plenary will include a debate on the Law Society Climate Change guidance focusing on when professional duties arise and how they are discharged. The session will also address carbon accounting and reporting, examining greenwashing claims and the role of regulators like the CMA and FCA in policing environmental claims. The final part of the session will explore the frontiers of climate litigation, particularly in relation to professional services.
