Wiltshire law firm Goughs is sponsoring an exhibition by contemporary English landscape artist Sam Travers.

The artist, who works from a studio outside Bath, specialises in oil paintings which he describes as “visual poems about the English countryside.”

Wiltshire Landscapes at the Georgian mansion Hartham Park, just outside Corsham, will launch with a private view on June 5 before opening to the public on June 6 between 10am and 3pm.

Twenty per cent of all proceeds from the exhibition will benefit the Youth Adventure Trust, a Wiltshire-based charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people.

Sam said of his art: “I paint quickly and instinctively and try and evoke the seasons, weather, atmosphere and mood of the landscape. My aim is to capture the colours, light and feeling of the ever changing landscape that I love.

“I live in West Wiltshire and the varying landscape and big skies form the majority of what I paint.”

Laura Cole, marketing director at Goughs, said: “We’re delighted to sponsor this exhibition showcasing Sam Travers’ remarkable talent.

“Our firm has long been committed to supporting cultural initiatives in our community, and we believe art brings people together in meaningful ways.

“We’re particularly proud that this event will support the Youth Adventure Trust and their invaluable work with young people in Wiltshire.”

The family-friendly exhibition is free to attend.

Goughs has offices in Calne, Chippenham, Corsham, Devizes, Melksham and Trowbridge.
