UK: Uni Law Librarian Wanted In The East Midlands

Due to expansion and the launch of a new campus in the East Midlands, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Librarian to set up and manage a new library for a well-regarded and long established university. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of library initiatives across the university and the implementation and ongoing delivery of the service.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • supporting and training students in the use of legal and business knowledge and information resources
  • conducting workshops, talks and training sessions
  • delivery of research modules
  • acting as liaison between academic and library staff regarding course material requirements
  • managing the largely online resources collection
  • carrying out legal research in person as well as via the library’s chat service
  • assisting with the legal tech hub
  • delivering e-resources and technology solutions
  • raising the profile of the university and library service at internal and external events

 

In order to be considered for this role candidates should have:

 

  • a qualification in Library/Information Management
  • experience of working within a law firm, a law faculty library or academic library with a strong business or social sciences background
  • proven experience of delivering training
  • knowledge of e-resources and any previous experience of ALMA/Primo or Leganto would be warmly welcomed (but not essential)
  • drive and enthusiasm to deliver this new service
  • strong communication skills and customer service ethic
