We believe that he is spineless – happy to lie about us only in a public inquiry where he can’t be sued for defamation.
Unlike Gove, we’re happy to be held to account for our journalism. So let me remind you of some of his misdeeds we have been able to uncover.
We know he greased the wheels for a company called Unispace to land £679m of PPE contracts after an email was sent to, we believe, his personal email address following private phone calls [1]. Some of those contracts were at four or five hundred percent of the average price paid for PPE. And even the Department of Health says that Unispace has only “partly met its contractual obligations”.
And we know he misled the House of Commons about how the VIP lane operated [2].
And we know his department operated the VIP lane illegally – because the High Court said so after our challenge [3].
And we know – despite his frantic attempts to distance himself [4] – that Michelle Mone wrote to him on his personal email address only weeks before PPE Medpro was awarded its notorious PPE contracts.
So what else does Gove have to hide?
