Our client, a leading law firm, require a Business Development Manager to join their busy team.
The role of the BD Manager is to assist the partners in business development and internal knowledge management. The BD Manager is responsible for business development initiatives, maintenance of existing client relationships and management of the firm’s internal knowledge management processes and procedures. The BD Manager will also work closely with the Office Manager.
Key Requirements:
Business Development
- Assisting the partners in the development of the firm business plan.
- Preparing and maintaining business development plans, including sector plan, key client plans, regional plans and practice area plan, in conjunction with the partners.
- Preparing and maintaining reports of cartel follow-on business development opportunities in respect of both EC and NCA decisions.
- Identifying potential abuse of dominance claims.
- Producing a monthly report on business development initiatives.
- Preparing and maintaining key client contact list.
- Preparing and maintaining a register of potential referral sources.
- Prepare and maintain a register of preferred economists, accountants and relationship law firms.
- Liaising with relationship law firms, experts and other referral sources to identify business development opportunities, in conjunction with the partners.
- Developing products such as the Cartel Audit.
- Assisting in the preparation of pitch documentation.
- Identifying business development training and assisting the partners in the roll out of such training programmes.
- Monitor online resources such as PLC, Mlex and GCR for recent legal developments and disseminate within the firm and to external marketing advisors as appropriate.
- Liaising with the US about business development opportunities and initiatives.
Marketing
- Working with the partners and external marketing consultants to formulate marketing strategies.
- Assisting in the preparation of directory and award submissions.
- Identifying marketing opportunities such as conference sponsorships and other advertising.
- Development and maintenance of firm marketing materials such as brochures, press releases and other client materials (including working with partners and associates to prepare client updates).
- Identify and assist in the preparation of submissions to consultations by the EC, NCAs and governmental departments.
- Assisting in the development of the website and then on-going maintenance, in conjunction with the Operations Director.
- Identifying marketing events such as client dinners and organising such event in conjunction with the Operations Director.
