A specialist legal recruitment business established earlier this year by two entrepreneurs who have known each other since their school days has outlined plans to expand after a successful start working in the North West marketplace.
Thornton Legal is an owner-managed legal recruitment business that was set up in January 2016 by Joe Rees (right) and Nick Tappin (left).
Tappin qualified as a solicitor in 2003 with law firm Hill Dickinson before moving into legal recruitment in 2013, while Rees has worked in recruitment for more than ten years.
After a strong 2016, making successful placements for partners, associates and paralegals across a number of different sectors, plans are in place to expand the business and take on several new recruitment consultants over the next six months.
“We firmly believe in the importance of relationship building, and as such take every opportunity to meet both candidates and clients where possible,” said Tappin.
“This has proven extremely useful in getting to know candidates’ experience and motivation as well as helping gain their trust.
“The flipside is that hiring partners feel reassured they understand what makes their firms tick and that any CVs sent to them by Thornton Legal are right for the role and culture.”
Operating out of Liverpool but covering the North West legal market, the business is geared towards solicitors and experienced paralegals of all legal disciplines. Client law firms range from national and regional heavyweights to boutique high street practices.
