LexisNexis helps to progress the Rule of Law with free access for pupil barristers

Barristers are a vital component of our legal system. To ensure the law is representative of the people, the industry needs to recruit barristers from all backgrounds. With free access to aspiring barristers, LexisNexis is helping to achieve this goal.

LexisNexis, a leading global provider of information and analytics has announced that it will further its support to the Bar and the Rule of Law by providing pupil barristers with free access to LexisPSL for the 12 months of their pupillage.

Packed with precedents, practical next step practice notes, check lists, forms and legal tools, LexisPSL helps barristers to research and interpret the law.  Covering 36 practice areas, it offers clear and up-to-date explanations of the law and how to apply it.

“Learning the ropes as a pupil barrister is tough”, explains Sarah Hallowell, the Bar lead for LexisNexis.  “We want to help ensure that pupils have access to the tools they need to succeed, wherever they are – whatever the circumstances.”

“LexisPSL provides an incredibly useful introduction to new areas of law,” a pupil barrister from Twenty Essex Chambers commented. “It was a great tool to have during pupillage, as it quickly gets to the heart of an issue and takes you to the relevant cases.”

“At LexisNexis, everything we do – from our products to how we go about doing business – is about protecting the Rule of Law”, noted James Harper, Director of Global Legal at LexisNexis.  “This offer is no different.  Providing access to quality legal advice, and supporting a diverse and representative Bar, ensures the barristers of tomorrow can be there for us all.”
