UK Law Society Library “Seeking insights for Law Society library services review”

Farah Wise writes

Dear legal information service colleagues,

We are excited to share that we are planning the future of Law Society library services! As part of this, we are thinking about our current offer, reviewing whether what we provide meets the needs of the legal profession – and I should add, the community of library and information staff who are one of our major and valued user groups 🙂

We’d like to talk to colleagues at other libraries, legal research / information service providers, and hear about what you offer, your upcoming plans and what you’d like / expect from us. It would be especially good (and hopefully mutually beneficial) to talk with law firm information services about what your people need and use in terms of services and where they’re getting their needs met currently. Whoever your user group, it would be great to connect with colleagues willing to talk about their interesting or innovative legal info / research services.

If that sounds like you, we’d really appreciate you sparing some time to chat to us and are very happy to reciprocate. We’ll be more than happy to share relevant findings in return for your incredibly valuable insights. Rest assured that we won’t be asking / sharing anything commercially sensitive or confidential obviously!

We’ve been lucky to pull in amazing ex-Bodleian law librarian Ruth Bird who will be using her expertise to assist us with this initial review. Please reach out if you’re interested or if you want to hear more about what we’re planning.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Best wishes, Farah
