UK: Global Law Firm Looking For Information Officer

A leading global law firm has a new vacancy for an Information Officer to work within one of their embedded teams. Working as part of the Library and Information Services team the successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and professional legal information service to fee earners across the firm.

 

Specific duties include:

 

  • Carrying out legal and business research and analysis
  • Assisting with reports for the purpose of business development
  • Supporting fee earners and other colleagues in the use of online and hard copy sources
  • Delivering training sessions
  • Sharing ideas and implementing changes
  • Working closely with KM colleagues and collaborating with other teams to deliver a coherent and seamless information service
  • Providing a current awareness service
  • Editing and maintaining intranet content
  • Assisting with cataloguing, acquisitions and other collection management duties

 

In order to be considered for this role candidates should have:

 

  • An Information/Library qualification (a law-related qualification would also be beneficial but not essential)
  • Knowledge of legal information sources such as Lexis, Westlaw etc
  • Work experience from a law firm or professional services environment
  • An interest in the legal information community evidenced by membership of relevant groups such as BIALL, CILIP , SLA etc
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and possess confidence to liaise with colleagues at all levels across the firm and to deliver training
