We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual to Head the Knowledge & Information Services team for a 1 year maternity cover.

This role is to oversee the firm’s award winning Knowledge & Information Services team and be responsible for managing the delivery and integrity of the firm’s Knowledge Management offering. Maintaining subscriptions to our electronic resources, negotiating contracts for any new resources is also a large part of this role.

Responsibilities

•  Supervision and management of the K&IS team

•  Implementing the firm’s knowledge management strategy

•  Promoting a culture of knowledge sharing across the firm

•  Overall collection management & budgetary responsibility for the firm’s departmental libraries & online resources.

•  Maintaining relationships with new & existing vendors and the negotiation/re-negotiation of contracts

•  Evaluate new technologies and understand how they would impact the firm’s KM service

•  Co-ordinating trials of new sources where necessary, and advising fee earners on resources.

•  Work alongside the PSLs, HR and L&D functions to ensure alignment of professional learning and Knowledge Management offerings.

•  Ownership of the firm’s document automation programme.

Key Skills & Experience

•  Prior experience of working within a KM role.

•  Experience of operating at a senior level and of management.

•  Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to deal with staff at all levels.

•  An interest in knowledge, technological advances and their potential impact on the firm’s knowledge systems.

•  Experience of creating and implementing new programmes and policies on time and within budget.

•  Managing Know-how and legal support databases.

•  Communicating progress of K&IS team and of project work.
