Police investigating ‘dine and dash’ allegations and bail breaches want to speak to a former solicitor who was struck off earlier this year.
Essex Police is seeking Kerry Stevens (pictured), 38, in connection with a number of investigations into alleged making off without payment and failure to answer police bail. These relate to ’incidents where individuals are reported to have failed to pay for taxi fares and restaurant bills, as well as a failure to answer police bail’, the force added.
Stevens is described as 5ft tall and of small build, with previous links to the Southend and Great Wakering areas.
The force said it is also looking for Daniel Alani, also 38, who is 5ft 8in tall and of stocky build.
The ‘dine and dash’ investigations are being conducted under Operation Raker, a dedicated policing response targeting theft, assaults and public order offences in the Southend, Essex area. Those with any information are asked to contact Essex Police or 101.
Kerry Ann Stevens, admitted in February 2016, was struck off in May after being convicted of fraud. In February 2020, Stevens made a false representation by stating she would return to a Harvester restaurant, in Rayleigh, Essex, to pay her £60.91 bill, but did not. In January 2021, she made a false representation that she had paid for a £43.47 takeaway when she had not.
