The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is facing legal action over a £145m testing contract awarded to a private company without it going to open tender.
Deloitte, the multinational professional services firm, was given the five month deal to “support testing for Covid 19”. The Good Law Project has begun new legal proceedings against the award on the grounds that the Government breached Public Contract Regulations by failing to advertise or undertake any transparent competition.
It is the latest legal challenge by the group which has already taken the Government to court over how it awarded personal protective equipment (PPE) contracts during the pandemic.
