UK: BIALL’s Professional Development Committee is pleased to announce the running of the next in-person Legal Reference Materials course, at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, London on Friday 2nd August 2024. 

The aim of the course is to introduce you to the structure of the legal system in the UK and use of key legal information sources.  The course covers the theory of the English legal system, legislation, case law and practical legal research experience. 

The course will be run by Jackie Hanes, Librarian at the University of Warwick, and Robert Turner, Senior Information Officer at Bristows LLP.? 

The cost will be £150 (+VAT) for BIALL members, £190 (+VAT) for non-members. The run schedule for the event is available on the BIALL website. 

A bursary will also be available (further information to follow).
