UK: BIALL Legal Foundations Course – Book your place now

Dear all,

Places are still available for the 2024-25 BIALL Legal Foundations Course. Use the BIALL Booking Form to register online for this great course.

This is an online course delivered in conjunction with the University of Westminster which will be of particular interest to new entrants to the legal information profession. The course commences mid-October 2022 and finishes in April 2025.

The course provides a grounding in legal concepts for librarians, knowledge managers and information workers. It is not a course on how to conduct legal research, but rather a way of getting to grips with the concepts and terminology used in the legal profession, providing you with a better understanding of the law in England and Wales and how it has been applied in various subject areas.

Subjects covered include: the English Legal System, Contract, Crime, Employment, Business, Immigration Law and more. Participants cover eight core subjects and then choose which optional modules they would like to take in the new year. You will need to take at least four optional modules to pass but can take all 11 if you choose. Video lectures are released weekly with multiple-choice questions to solidify your learning.
