UK: 27 Jul 2021 New travel rules for entering the UK when fully vaccinated – Covid 19 update

Law firm Gherson have published the following on their blog..

From 19 July 2021, fully vaccinated UK residents returning to the UK from amber list countries will no longer have to quarantine upon arrival.

However, those returning from France must still quarantine in the UK even if fully vaccinated. Travelers must be fully vaccinated with either an NHS administered vaccine in the UK (and must have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days) or have taken part in an approved UK vaccine clinical trial. Therefore, those vaccinated outside the UK will still be required to quarantine upon arrival in the UK from amber list countries.New travel rules for entering the UK when fully vaccinated – Covid 19 update

Those returning to the UK must complete a pre-departure test prior to their arrival in the UK, as well as a COVID-19 PRC test on or before Day 2 after arrival. They will no longer have to self-isolate or take a day 8 test after arrival. Children under the age of 18 will also not be required to quarantine upon arrival in the UK (even if unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated).

As of today, there has been no changes to requirements for those travelling from green or red list countries. Unvaccinated or non-fully vaccinated travellers returning from amber list countries may continue to ‘Test to Release’ in order to shorten the quarantine period from 10 to 5 days, provided they receive a negative COVID-19 test result.
