We wonder how the world of lawyer awards will go this year. We can’t imagine firms will be taking too much advertising in the accompanying booklets or paying huge sums for tables on the awards night.
We suggest they add the following awards in this year:
- Firm With The Most Layoffs
- Firm Retaining The Most Partners Yet Losing The Most Support Staff
- Firm With Most Decreased Revenues
- Firm Who Has Closed The Most Offices in 2009
- Firm Spending The Least Amount On Legal Directory Entries
- Firm With Most Partners Jumping Ship To Become In House Counsel At Safe Corporates
- Firm That Lost Most Amount of Business Due To Too Many Banking Clients
- First Firm To Close Down Lexis Nexis & Westlaw Accounts

The Lawyer Awards, now in its fifteenth year, remains the benchmark for excellence within the legal profession and are eagerly participated in by private practice, in-house counsel and the Bar.
There are 26 awards to choose from including a new category, Middle East Team of the Year. Make sure you have submitted your entries by 5.30pm on Wednesday 4th March 2009!
We are again supporting two charities; Kids Company and The Children’s Trust, so please ensure you give generously with your award entries.
The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on Tuesday 23rd June 2009 at The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, W1K 7TN. Download your table booking form from www.thelawyer.com/awards
