The Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the inaugural International Aquaculture Law & Policy Symposium. The Symposium will be held on June 5, 2026 at the University of Birmingham, England, in collaboration with Aquatic Life Institute and the Multispecies Collective.

The Symposium will bring together experts, scholars, and practitioners to discuss critical issues and emerging trends in the rapidly evolving field of aquaculture law and policy. The one-day, in-person program features a series of panels centered on the protection of farmed aquatic animals, with experts sharing their insights on contemporary issues such as: aquaculture’s impacts on animals, the environment and public health; global animal aquaculture law; emerging issues in animal aquaculture; and strategies for advocacy.

The Symposium is scheduled alongside the Multispecies Collective PhD Workshop (June 2) and the UK Animal Law Conference (June 3-4) at the University of Birmingham, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage with the broader animal law community in the UK.

Symposium attendance is free, but space is limited and registration is required. To view the full agenda, meet our expert panelists, and secure your seat, please click here.
