THE HONOURABLE SOCIETY OF THE INNER TEMPLE SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

 

The Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court and is responsible for calling barristers to the  Bar of England and Wales. Its members are students, barristers and judges. The Inn provides continuing legal education after qualification and other services for members.

 

We are looking for a qualified information professional with experience of working in a law library for our new part-time Senior Library Assistant post. The hours of work are from 6 to 8pm on 3 evenings a week and from 10am to 5pm on one Saturday a month. Our late evening opening hours are mainly during egal terms and do not include the month of August or the first two weeks in September. We probably open for about 10 Saturdays a year on a rota basis as agreed with the other Inn Libraries.

 

The post would entail working on the library’s enquiry desk and the rate of pay would be £26 an hour which would equate to about £8268 a year. In the evenings the only other member of staff on duty would be a shelving assistant. On Saturdays another member of the library team would also be working.
