President Trump suggested he will ask law firms he made deals with to provide pro bono help with tariff negotiations. Trump recently made deals with prominent law firms looking to shake off executive orders, including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and Milbank.
“We’re going to have to use those, those great law firms,” Trump said. “We’re getting them for the right price, because we have to—we need a lot of talent. We have a lot of countries coming in. They want to make deals.” Trump also floated using the law firms to help the coal industry with leasing federal land.
