Things are rapidly going downhill in Fiji… we’ve been seeing reports that from the outside just look like minor niggles…
A law firm broken into .. by “hooligans / youth” we were told earlier this week? and snippets of information about authorities banning meetings but the following news in today looks a little more ominous

Police cancels Law Society?s meet
Police have confirmed that Fiji Law Society?s annual general meeting has been cancelled.
When contacted by Fijivillage news, Director Police Operations, SSP Waisea Tabakau did not want to give any reason for the cancellation for the meeting that was to be called later this month.
Meanwhile, Fiji Law Society President, Dorsami Naidu confirms that they were granted the permit earlier, however it was cancelled last week.
Naidu said he will be writing to the authorities for reasons as to why the permit was cancelled.
The Annual General Meeting was scheduled to be held on the 26th of this month at ?The Fijian Hotel?

The authorities have now used two very heavy sticks against the country’s legal community.. first the granting of legal licenses and now this .. we presume further pressure on the few uncompliant in the judiciary is to be expected and some Fijian lawyers having to leave the country.
