Taser’s $8 Million Default Judgment in Stun-Gun Patent Suit

Taser International Inc. is entitled to a default judgment and sanctions in a case alleging patent and trademark infringement as well as false advertising, because of “a disturbing pattern of egregious discovery abuse” by the defendant, a federal district court said.

Taser originally sued Phazzer Electronics Inc. and others in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, in relation to Taser’s X26 CEW stun gun, which it markets to law enforcement agencies worldwide.
