Sydney Law School to host 2023 ADM+S Symposium

Symposium to highlight latest research in AI and automation in news, media and entertainment
The ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S) will share their latest findings and map out future agendas for research on AI and automation in news, media and entertainment at the annual ADM+S Symposium.

The symposium will be hosted at the University of Sydney Law School from 13 to 14 July with the option to join online.

Featuring keynotes, panel discussions and conversations with leading international and national researchers, industry representatives, advocacy groups and policymakers, the symposium will cater to a wide audience.

Topics will include:

–       Generative AI in news production and online advertising

–       Automation in the Creative Arts

–       Automated fact-checking

The symposium will also showcase the latest outcomes of major ADM+S projects including the Australian Ad Observatory, Mapping the Digital Gap and Australian Search Experience.

Professor Kim Weatherall, a Chief Investigator at the ADM+S and Professor of Law at the University of Sydney, said “We are thrilled to be hosting the 2023 ADM+S Symposium at the University of Sydney Law School.”

The University of Sydney’s own Professor Weatherall, Professor Terry Flew, Dr Olga Boichak, Dr Jonathon Hutchison and Rebecca Johnson will all be speaking through the event’s program.
