An attorney who gained attention for representing New Hampshire parents suing over school mask mandates pushing to get his law license reinstated on Tuesday.
Robert Fojo had his license suspended for allegedly mishandling clients’ money.
He appeared before the state supreme court on Tuesday where his defense argued that Fojo’s license was suspended unfairly without due process.
The attorney disciplinary office countered that by saying that due process was satisfied after an investigation with pages of evidence.
“Because there are multiple transactions where more than one client fund went in on the same deposit and had to be segregated in hindsight that this when he discovered the problem,” said William Saturley, the attorney for Fojo.
“Mr. Fojo does respond basically tells us that he didn’t realize he had the money, but he does nothing to fix the problem,” Mark Cornell, with the New Hampshire Attorney Discipline Office, said.
The defense team also says that Fojo’s new assistant was in charge of contacting clients about payments and that’s where the discrepancies occurred.
