The US Supreme Court declined to hear Tyson Food Inc.’s appeals of two Covid-19 meatpacking plant worker liability cases.
The high court’s decision Tuesday let stand a pair of appeals court decisions that found federal laws and regulations didn’t exempt Tyson from Covid death and illness liability claims filed by workers or their families.
Tyson argued that as the national Covid pandemic spread in the spring of 2020, the company kept its meat production plants open at the behest of the federal government and should therefore be protected from liability claims.
