Stroock sees partner exodus to Hogan Lovells after failed merger talks

More than 30 partners are slated to join law firm Hogan Lovells from New York’s Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, which has already seen dozens of its partners depart amid growing uncertainty about the firm’s future.

The group moving to Hogan Lovells includes Jeff Keitelman, who served as co-managing partner of Stroock and co-chair of its real estate group, Hogan Lovells said on Friday.

Hogan Lovells, a transatlantic law firm with more than 2,800 lawyers, touted the hires in a statement as a “premier group of extremely talented lawyers” but did not name the other partners set to make the move.

The departures appear to include more than half of Stroock’s current partnership, according to attorney listings on the firm’s website. A Stroock spokesperson declined to comment.
