Starbucks Corp. violated federal labor law by firing a union activist partially because of his social media post saying that the company instructed him to work despite testing positive for Covid-19, an NLRB judge ruled.

Although Bennett Scott’s June 2022 post on Twitter, the social media company now known as X, omitted that he was asymptomatic, it was honest, accurate, and complied with the terms of Starbucks’ social media policy, Administrative Law Judge Michael Rosas said in his decision Friday.
