Job Description
Manage legal risks: manage and advise on all legal and compliance matters and work closely with the businesses to identify, evaluate, communicate and effectively manage legal risks;
Contracts: draft and negotiate a broad range of corporate, commercial and trading agreements;
Collaboration: close collaboration with business managers, financial controllers, corporate affairs and human resources teams and with colleagues in Corporate Law department;
Current laws: stay abreast of developments and changes in the laws relating to our businesses and communicate them to clients;
Disputes and litigation: manage litigation including selection and management of external counsel;
Spend 10-30% of time traveling within China and up to 5% outside of China;
Competent to work under high pressure

Desired Skills & Experience
Degree in Law from a strong academic credentials from a top university; LLM (Masters in Law) from a US and UK Law School or top grade in legal writing course preferred;
2 years to 4 years? of post graduation experience from the corporate/commercial practice of a major law firm and/or in house law department;? 1+ years working in the US, UK, Europe, Hong Kong or Singapore preferred;
Experience working on transactions in China, particularly Mergers and Acquisitions and Joint Ventures;
Experience in intellectual property and employment law, M&A and joint ventures, corporate and finance and legal issues in emerging markets
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization (from senior management to administrative levels);
Strong contract drafting skills;
Keen sense of priorities: excellent risk assessment and analytical skills;
Execution: strong time management and organizational skills;
Execution capacity: takes initiative, assumes responsibility to complete tasks, self motivated, ability to work independently;
Collaboration with others: works as a team player, provides due support to decisions made, shows respect, candor and commitment to others;
Curious: passion to keep learning new things, including acquiring business acumen in order to better appreciate the commercial/business risks and perspectives;
Fluency in Mandarin and English;
Good writing quality, in both Chinese and English
