We see this happen quite often. We send an article to a client, and they respond saying that the title isn’t what they ordered; but the page numbers, authors, and subject matter are all on point.
So why is the title off? We’re not entirely sure, but we see this scenario most often with author CVs. Perhaps the author adds an item to their CV as soon as it’s been accepted for publication, but sometimes the titles change between acceptance and actual publication.
Another possibility is that a book chapter title corresponds to an earlier edition of the book and the title has changed slightly for the updated edition.
We handle these situations on a case-by-case basis and will often update our clients if something is very far off. Generally, as long as the subject matter, publication title, volume, issue, page numbers and maybe even some key words match, we feel confident in delivering it. Remember to check the “Quality Notes” section of your document’s cover page for important notes about discrepancies, missing pages that were omitted ads, and anything thing else that might be relevant to your order. As always, if you have any questions, please do get in touch with us!
