ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – An Upstate man has once again been arrested for allegedly portraying himself as a lawyer.
On Wednesday, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged 31-year-old Nathan Lee Chambers, of Seneca, with the practice of law without a license.
7NEWS previously reported that Chambers supposedly presented himself to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office as a lawyer for the purpose of providing legal advice or assistance for a criminal defendant in 2024.
A new investigation was initiated on May 28.
It was reported that Chambers entered an Anderson business on McGee Road, where he allegedly introduced himself as someone’s attorney and requested to file a complaint.
Officials said that Chambers is not licensed to practice law or solicit the legal cause of another person/entity in South Carolina.
Chambers was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
