Some exciting news afoot from the SoundCloud camp – who will soon be launching a new payment system, allowing fans to pay bands and artists directly.
Currently, Tencent Music from China, plus Patreon, OnlyFans, and other platforms provide direct payment options including tipping and artist subscriptions. It’s still not known exactly what form SoundCloud’s direct payment model will take, but they are due to announce full details at the end of their first 2021 quarter, so we look forward to hearing more soon.
