Our client, a leader in global ecommerce and cross-border retailing is now seeking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in Beijing. This is a unique opportunity to take up a newly created role and join a dynamic and fast-growing company. The role will work closely with business and management units on various PRC legal matters in an MNC business context and report into the Associate GC based in Beijing. The role will include, structuring, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts and transactions in English and Chinese, including retail, technical and logistics services, employment, licensing, advertisement, procurement, real estate and transportation. You will also be involved in managing litigation, providing advice on employment matters and dealing with new business initiates, corporate structure and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have a law degree from a top Chinese law school plus a common law LLM or JD, be qualified to practice law in China and a common law jurisdiction and have at least 10+ years’ legal experience, including 6+ years’ experience in an MNC or an international law firm.
