A seminar on the evolving topic of social media posts as grounds for dismissal will be held at the Distillery Building in Dublin 7 next Wednesday 22 January.
Presented jointly by the Employment Bar Association and the Media, Internet, and Data Protection Bar Association, the event will hear from Clíona Kimber BL and Michael O’Doherty BL, from the perspective of both employers and employees.
Monitor
Brendan Kirwan SC will chair the discussion, which will range across recent WRC cases concerning social-media posts, the degree to which a boss can monitor an employee’s private accounts, and the right to express controversial opinions, as against potential damage to an employer reputation.
The event runs from 4.30-5.30pm at the Gaffney Room, with online attendance also available.
